T O P I C R E V I E WZaryaIn STS-78 pre-flight and post-flight photos, Susan Helms is seen wearing what appears to be a second nametag on the right sleeve of her Shuttle Launch/Entry Suit (see KSC-96EC-0819 and KSC-96EC-0885). I have seen other images of it in the STS-78 walkout videos. However, I have not found a clear image of the tag.Does anyone know the significance of this tag? Are there any good images of the tag that clearly show its content? Thank you.Hart SastrowardoyoJust a SWAG, but it looks to be a leather ID tag, which I would assume also has her name. Could be her ID nameplate for her Air Force jacket; maybe she wanted to take it into space and didn't have room in her PPK or the OFK?hoorenzTo give some context: up to STS-76, the crews used to wear the NASA worm in this spot. It had been discontinued on the ACES after that, leaving an empty velcro patch on the suit. It took a couple of flights before it became common practise to wear the class patch on this shoulder.p51Definitely looks like the older leather nameplate, I can see the wings on each side. Makes sense to place it there if you have an extra one...ZaryaThanks to each of you for your responses. The mystery seems to be solved. Anyone have a good photo of the nametag?
